Cannabinol (CBN)

Cannabinol (CBN) is a beneficial cannabinoid in cannabis that is generated from the degradation of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the primary psychoactive compound in cannabis. Unlike THC, which is known for its intoxicating effects, CBN is non-intoxicating. It is typically present in older cannabis plants where THC has degraded due to exposure to light, heat, or oxygen.

CBN has some therapeutic effects, although research is still in its early stages. Studies show that CBN has sedative properties, making it helpful for promoting sleep and managing insomnia. Additionally, it possesses anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antibacterial properties, which can aid in pain management and combating infections.
